A walk to raise money for homelessness will be happening in the Town of Milton next week.

The event, which is being hosted by Milton Transitional Housing, is called the Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY). It is a family-friendly walk to raise money for local charities that help people who may be experiencing hurt, hunger and homelessness.

The event, which is aiming to raise $80,000, has already raised $68,689, which is equivalent to 85 per cent of its goal. It will take place on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Those who will be walking are reminded that they must personally check in to participate in the in-person event. The walk will start at the Milton Sports Centre, located at 605 Santa Maria Blvd.

Participants will also have the option to do so virtually and are welcome to walk anywhere and anytime they like before or on the event date.

Fundraising walkers who raise $150 or those under 18 who raise $75 will receive a CNOY toque as a thank you on the event day, while supplies last.
