A Mississauga man, an Oakville man and a youth from Oshawa are facing more than 50 charges in connection with two armed and violent carjackings last week in Toronto — one of which targeted a $400,000 Lamborghini.

Investigators with Toronto Police said at a press conference Tuesday afternoon one of the victims was severely beaten and that during the arrests last Friday night, the driver of a stolen BMW SUV narrowly missed striking several officers as he smashed into police cruisers while trying to avoid capture.

“Even when boxed in by police vehicles, the driver refused to comply with officers’ demands and again attempted to flee,” investigators said at the press conference held at Toronto Police headquarters.

Police added three handguns and more than $18,000 in cash were recovered during the arrests.

They’ve also recovered the two stolen vehicles — a 2024 BMW X5 valued at about $175,000 and a 2021 Lamborghini Urus valued at approximately $400,000.

Police said the arrests were made last Friday night shortly after 10:30 p.m.

Officers on Islington Avenue and Steeles Avenue West in Toronto spotted the stolen Lamborghini just before 10:30 p.m. and followed it to “an establishment” near Barmac Drive, where the driver stepped out of the luxury car for a period of time.

While watching the car, police then spotted the stolen BMW X5 as it parked in the same parking lot.

Moments later, police moved in to make arrests when the BMW attempted to leave the area.

“The driver reversed up a hill, smashing into several police vehicles while trying to evade arrest, narrowly missing officers,” police said.

The arrests were made moments later.

The BMW was stolen on the afternoon of April 6 in the area of Ellesmere Road and Kennedy Road in Scarborough, according to police.

As the victim was getting out of the SUV in a parking lot, three males confronted the person, demanded the car keys and one of the culprits pointed a gun at the victim, police said.

There were no injuries in that carjacking.

On April 11, though, a person who had their Lamborghini carjacked while at a gas station was severely beaten and had to be hospitalized.

The incident occurred at about 8 p.m. in the area of Yonge Street and Sheppard Avenue.

Police said four males stepped out of a grey sedan and confronted the victim.

“The owner was repeatedly assaulted,” investigators said, before the culprits sped away in the vehicles.

The victim’s injuries, while serious, were not life-threatening, police said.

Mehkash Sohal, 21, of Mississauga, is charged with robbery with a firearm, 11 counts of assault with intent to resist arrest, two counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and numerous firearms and other offences.

Daquon Green, 19, of Oakville, is charged with more than a dozen firearms and other offences.

A 17-year-old boy from Oshawa is facing numerous similar charges.

All three made first court appearances in Toronto this past Saturday.
