An early morning truck fire slowed traffic on Hwy. 401 in Milton.
The transport truck trailer fire broke out in the eastbound lanes of Hwy. 401 just after Hwy. 25 in Milton on Tuesday (Nov. 8), OPP said in a tweet at 5:05 a.m.
There were no injuries reported in the fire.
“The cab and the driver moved away from the burning trailer,” OPP said.
Both Milton Fire crews and the Mississauga were on the scene.
One of the three lanes was open as crews worked to extinguish the fire.

Update: At 9 a.m. OPP said they hope to have all lanes reopened by 10 a.m. The fire appears to have started in an axle. The trailer was fully loaded with whey protein, which spilled out onto the highway, police said.
Only one lane was open for the clean up.
