VIDEO: Mississauga Man Arrested Following Disturbance on Plane

A Mississauga man is facing charges after allegedly causing a disturbance on a flight from Toronto to Zurich.
According to a recent NTV article, 29-year-old Mississauga man Ahmed Khassim appeared in court Monday, Dec. 31 to face charges after allegedly causing a disturbance an international flight.
The incident prompted the Air Canada aircraft to land in St. John’s, Newfoundland on Sunday, Dec. 30.

According to the tweet, Philipp Postrehovsky, another passenger who was onboard the plane, says the accused “heckled and threatened multiple aircrew,” adding that an off duty pilot and police officer “tried to deescalate the situation without success.”
The accused was reportedly charged under the Aeronautics Act for engaging in behaviour that endangered those on the flight.

According to NTV, the accused is alleged to have been “intoxicated and disruptive during the flight.”
He will appear in court again in early 2019.
