Police are searching for the driver of a blue Toyota RAV4 after a pedestrian was critically injured in a hit-and-run crash in Brampton.
The collision happened on Monday around 5 a.m. at the intersection of Bovaird Drive and McLaughlin Road, Peel Regional Police say.
A male pedestrian was crossing from at the intersection when he was struck by a Toyota RAV4 travelling northbound on McLaughlin that made a right-hand turn onto Bovaird.
But police say the man was then hit by two other vehicles, and that the driver of the RAV4 “stopped briefly” before fleeing the scene.
The 28-year-old male pedestrian suffered critical injuries and remains in hospital in life-threatening condition .
Police are asking any motorists or bystanders who were in the area between 5 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. to review dash‑camera or cellphone footage for possible sightings of the suspect vehicle.
Investigators have released a picture of the suspect vehicle.
