Man suffers life-threatening injuries in hit-and-run crash in Brampton

A pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries in a hit-and-run crash in Brampton on Monday morning.

A man in his 20s was hit by a vehicle in the Bovaird Drive West and McLaughlin Road area at around 5:20 a.m., Peel Regional Police said.

The vehicle did not remain on the scene, and there is no vehicle description at this time, police said.

Police said the pedestrian was transported to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.

Eastbound Bovaird Drive West is closed from McLaughlin Road to Royal Orchard Drive. Drivers should expect delays in the area, police added. 

In an update, police said the road had reopened just after noon.

The Major Collision Bureau is investigating. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dashcam video should call police 905-453-3311.
