Victim killed in two-vehicle crash confirmed as 21-year-old Caledon man

Police are asking the public for leads following a two-vehicle crash on the border of Brampton and Caledon that killed a 21-year-old Caledon man.

The crash happened around 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday on Mayfield Road near the intersection of Mississauga Road, according to the Caledon OPP.

Police said the driver of one vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver of the second vehicle was transported to hospital for minor injuries.

The victim has now been confirmed by police as a 21-year-old man from Caledon. His identity has not been released.

Mayfield Road was closed to all traffic between Creditview Road and Mississauga Road for several hours while police investigated the crash with the roadway reopening around 2:30 p.m.

The crash was the second fatal collision incident under investigation by the Caledon OPP in as many days as two people were killed in a crash with a school bus on Tuesday.

The fatal collision happened shortly before 8 a.m. on Tuesday when a passenger vehicle collided with a school bus on Heart Lake Road.

Police said five people were inside the passenger vehicle and a bus driver and student were in the school bus at the time.

One person from the passenger vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene while the other four occupants were rushed to hospital in various conditions.
