Vibrant Brampton Festival returns this weekend with celebration of music, food and culture

The Vibrant Brampton Festival is back to celebrate the city’s South Asian arts, culture and heritage this weekend.

The seventh-annual incarnation of the Vibrant Brampton festival kicks off on Friday (July 22) to promote and celebrate the diversity of South Asian art form and showcase the work of local Brampton creators from around the world.

With over 50 performers, the free outdoor extravaganza at Garden Square runs on Friday and Saturday will feature headlining performances from Bollywood composer and Indian pop and rock group Bombay Vikings former vocalist Neeraj Shridhar, as well as Punjabi Pop Singer from Jaz Dhami and Canadian Folk Bhangra Artist Geeta Zaildar.

Other acts include Bollywood singer Aditi Singh Sharma and Canadian and Indigenous artists like the Jadoo Entertainment Dance Company, Mudra Dance Academy and Aqua Nibii Waawaaskone.

There will also be lots of food vendors and South Asian merchants, and kid-friendly activities like face painting, magic shows, and free Bollywood and Salsa dance workshops.

Admission to the festival and parking is free, and will run on Friday and Saturday from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Vibrant Brampton is organized by the non-profit group Arts and Culture Initiative of South Asia (ACISA) with the goal of breaking cultural barriers, bringing all communities from Brampton together to experience the different parts of South Asian Arts and culture.
