Brampton’s celebration of South Asian arts, music and culture is back for another year of performances, food and family fun.

The downtown will come alive next month for Vibrant Brampton, a festival celebrating South Asian culture through arts, songs, performances and food.

Now in its 8th year, the annual festival celebrates Brampton’s amalgamation of cultures and showcases local artists alongside some well-known South Asian entertainers.

“Vibrant Brampton aims to promote cross-cultural understanding with the hope of bringing a diverse community together in celebration of life, culture, art, and tradition,” festival co-founder Sandeep Prabhakar said in a release.

The free two-day outdoor festival starts on July 21 in Garden Square and will kick off with a concert by Bollywood Playback singer Aaman Trikha along with several local artists including Raina Sen, Prabha Subhadra and Sumana Ganguly.

For Punjabi music lovers there will be a performance by Punjabi star Falak Shabir, who’s hits like “Ijazat” and “Rabba Ho” have over 2.7 million monthly listens on Spotify.

On top of the music and performances, there will also be family-friendly activities like face-painting, balloons, and community arts projects, and free hands-on Bollywood and Salsa dance workshops.

Entry into Vibrant Brampton is free and there will also be free parking available for guests.
