For the second time this fall, a vehicle has hit a Mississauga pub.

The Brogue Irish Pub in Port Credit was hit yesterday (Oct. 20) around 4:30 p.m., said Melissa Donnelly, one of the family members who runs the pub.

“We’ve been here for 23 years and nothing like this has ever happened,” Donnelly says.

Luckily, the patio wasn’t out at the time of the crash and no injuries were reported.

Posts on social media indicate two cars collided at Hurontario Street and Lakeshore Road, then one vehicle came up onto the sidewalk hitting a bollard.

Peel Regional Police confirmed it was a two-vehicle crash and there were no injuries. They didn’t have further details on how it happened or if there would be charges.

The pub wasn’t hit hard.

“There was no serious damage to our building, thankfully,” Donnelly says.

But they weren’t so fortunate a few weeks ago when The Brogue and what was Union Barbers (now closed and for lease) sustained much more damage.

On Sept. 19, in a crash at 12:22 a.m., a car crashed through the patio and smashed into the building.  One person was sent to hospital with minor injuries. The pub was closed at the time.

“It took out our patio and the car came in our exit door,” Donnelly says.

They had to do repairs and are still waiting on a window.

“We had to redo the wall and one of our exit doors and then it took out half the patio tables and chairs,” Donnelly says.

In both crashes, there was no one walking on the sidewalk, thankfully.
