Vehicle hits hydro pole, knocks down live wires on major Hamilton roadway

A collision has prompted a road closure in Hamilton on Wednesday morning.
At around 10 a.m., officers responded to a vehicle that struck a hydro pole on King Street East between Holton Avenue and Proctor Boulevard.
Live wires were knocked down across all lanes on King Street.
Crews from Alectra Utilities are also responding to the scene.
King Street is currently closed between Holton and Proctor as police work to clear the scene, and drivers are asked to avoid the area until further notice.
