Those looking for something fun and unique to do over March Break may be interested to know that a festival which celebrates the art of puppetry is coming to Mississauga.

The event called Puppet Festival Mississauga, was formerly known as the Bridges Festival and is an international festival of Puppetry and Animation presented by the Crane Creations Theatre Company.

The festival will take place all over the City of Mississauga over a seven-day period during March Break (Mar. 8 to 15, 2023).

The festival will feature a variety of exciting shows and performances that will be suitable for all ages. Attendees can also expect engaging workshops and an informative exhibition all of which discover the art of puppetry.

The event aims to connect professional puppeteers and bridge cultures through the art of puppetry while celebrating the skills of the designers and performers and expanding the conversation about what puppetry and animation are.

Its mission is also to “ignite a reflection of the world” in its audiences by “connecting the past and the future.”

“We celebrate traditional forms of puppetry and the skills of the puppet designers and performers while expanding the conversation of what is puppetry and animation and how it touches the contemporary world,” reads the event’s website.

“Start your family tradition this March by creating memories that will last a lifetime.”
