A number of municipalities (Oakville, Burlington, Halton Hills, Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, and St. Catharines) have all recently declared a climate emergency. And the Trudeau government also recently announced that it is planning to ban single-use plastics by 2021.

All in efforts to help the environment.

Now, an eco-conscious company has opened a store in the town of Milton.

The Kind Matter Company first started as an online store back in October of 2018. However, about three weeks ago, the company opened a flagship store in Milton.

The Kind Matter Company is located at 15 Martin St. (Unit 6), and is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

The store is closed on Sundays.

So, what exactly can eco-conscious shoppers find here?

According to the company’s website, customers will find 100 per cent beeswax birthday candles, bamboo children’s utensils, bamboo toothbrushes, reusable cloth wipes, coconut bowls, and so much more.

In addition, the company also offers a subscription box service.

“The Kind Matter Company guides families through their transition into adopting earth-friendly practices within their home,” reads the company’s Facebook page. “We provide a quarterly, sustainable living subscription box service that focuses on eco-conscious, Canadian made products. The time between each delivery allows subscribers to comfortably implement practices into their daily lives before new ones are introduced.

“We feel that offering sustainable living options into homes at a slower pace ensures that people can confidently continue with these practices without feeling overwhelmed, therefore having a positive impact on their families and on our environment,” the Facebook page continues. “Our education-focused online presence will allow subscribers to truly understand the positive impact they are making with each small effort.”

If you haven’t stopped by this store yet, fear not, because The Kind Matter Company is hosting its grand opening this Saturday (June 29).
