ontario man wins lottery second time

An Ontario man has scored a big lottery win for the second time.

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation announced in a news release Thursday that Marcel Leclaire won the top prize of $3 million on an Instant Platinum scratch ticket.

The 72-year-old Sudbury resident previously won $1 million on Encore in 2017, the OLG said.

“I still play weekly,” Leclaire said.

“This ticket was nice and shiny and it caught my eye, so I bought it.”

Leclaire checked his ticket at the store, shouting “wow!” when he realized he won a big prize yet again.

The retiree then told some friends the news, “all of whom were very happy for him,” the OLG release said.

He plans to buy a house and share the winnings with family.

“This is just amazing. It’s an incredible feeling,” he said.

The winning scratch ticket was bought in Sudbury at Circle K on Lasalle Boulevard.
