Two Mississauga teens have been charged with the armed robbery of a Canadian Tire store in Oakville this past weekend.

Police allege the incident occurred around 10:45 a.m. on Saturday (Jan. 21) when two teenagers walked into the Canadian Tire, located at 1100 Kerr St., and stole an air pistol.

“(A) loss prevention officer confronted the suspects and demanded they give back the gun,” Halton Regional Police Cst. Steve Elms told inhalton.com.

The two teens refused the demand, left the store and got into a red sedan, police say.

“At which point one suspect showed what was believed to be an actual gun and threatened the loss prevention officer,” said Elms.

The value of the air gun is approximately $150.

Police would later locate the vehicle with the suspects in the area of Hwy. 403 and Trafalgar Rd and arrest the two teens.

One of the teens, police say, resisted arrest.

Police say they seized two airsoft guns.
