Two Hamilton men are facing charges in connection with a break-and-enter at Ezee Clean Car Wash Break in Stoney Creek that left a witness with serious injuries.

Hamilton police say that shortly after 7:00 am on Sunday, Feb. 5, officers received multiple calls about a large truck that had driven into the Highway 8 and Green Road-area car wash.

Police allege that the suspects intentionally hit a witness with a pick-up truck, seriously injuring him in the process.

According to police, Maxwell Swiston, 28, and Jason Ward, 45, are facing charges in connection with the incident.

Swiston was arrested on Feb. 14 and appeared in court on Feb. 15. Police say he had outstanding warrants in Hamilton for dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, fleeing from police, failing to comply with probation and more.

Ward was arrested on Feb. 16.

Both of the accused are facing break and enter, mischief and theft-related charges.

“Detectives continue to investigate and believe that there are additional individuals known to be involved in this incident,” police said in a news release.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Robert DiIanni of the Homicide Unit at 905-546-3836.
