One man arrested, two at large after 3 vehicles stolen in Toronto, abandoned near Ottawa

Three vehicles stolen in Toronto early this morning were left behind in the tiny village of Ashton, southwest of Ottawa, with one of the three suspects involved arrested by officers with Lanark OPP.

The other two men – who had fled on foot after abandoning the vehicles – are still on the loose.

The OPP began their investigation in the early morning hours on Monday after three vehicles were stolen from the Toronto area. The vehicles were abandoned near Ashton, about 40 kilometres from Ottawa.

Police left the area after an extensive search with assistance from OPP Canine, Emergency Response Team, and Aviation services.

Anyone has information on the above individuals or has knowledge of their location is asked to contact OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

Police do not believe there is any risk to public safety but encourages the public not to approach any persons and to call 9-1-1 or your local detachment.
