Trip to Disney World for grandkids after Niagara Falls man wins $100,000

If there’s one thing that grandparents like to do, it’s spoil their grandkids. So let’s just say some Niagara Falls area grandkids just hit the jackpot.
When retired Niagara Falls grandfather John Carruthers matched the last six of seven ENCORE numbers in exact order in the June 7 LOTTO 6/49 draw, that ended up being a $100,000 win.
Carruthers says he always plays ENCORE, saying the the OLG Centre in Toronto, “I’ve had friends who have won big. Now it was my turn!”
The retired teacher was on the phone to his brother when he checked his ticket and uncovered his win. “I said to my brother ‘Holy cow! I think I won $100,000!’ Then my wife came in the room, and I told her I won. She didn’t believe me at first, so I scanned my ticket again to show her.”
He’ll save a portion for projects around the house but is mostly looking forward to taking his grandkids to Disney.
“We’ll keep being ourselves, but this win will add some comfort to our lives. It’s an amazing feeling,” he concluded.
