The Town of Milton is encouraging the community to celebrate Earth Day by participating in a scavenger hunt.

Earth Day, which falls annually on April 22, has been celebrated since 1970 and is a day to raise awareness about environmental protection and maintaining a healthy planet.

This year’s official theme for 2022 according to earthday.org, is “Invest in Our Planet” which is meant to encourage others to take action on climate and go all-in on a partnership for the planet.

To show their support, the Town of Milton is inviting residents to participate in cleanup days from now until Apr. 30 or join their scavenger hunt, which encourages the community to complete a checklist.

Those who participate in the scavenger hunt are also being encouraged to post photos on social media and tag the Town of Milton.

“There’s lots to do with friends and family to help keep our community safe and clean for all to enjoy,” reads the Town of Milton’s website.

“Let’s make this Earth Day the best one yet because a healthy planet is not an option — it is a necessity.”
