The Town of Halton Hills recently announced that they will soon be implementing an employee vaccination policy.

Effective Oct. 11, town staff will be required to show proof of vaccination against COVID-19.

Staff who are unvaccinated as of Oct. 18, regardless of the reason, will be required to submit a negative COVID-19 test result before entering the workplace.

Additionally, staff must participate in a vaccination education session unless they receive an exemption under the Ontario Human Rights Act. If this is the case, they will only have to comply with the testing requirement.

Chris Mills, Acting Chief Administrative Officer said, “We want to ensure that we are doing everything we can to support a healthy and safe workplace for staff and visitors to our facilities. As a municipality, we have a responsibility to lead by example and this direction is supported by Town Council and our entire senior management team.”

The vaccination policy will apply to all Halton Hills town staff, student placements, volunteers and contractors as well as individuals who are employed by a temporary agency but performing work at the direction of the Town.
