Tow trucks were damaged in a fire at a business in Brampton early Tuesday morning.
Two heavy tow trucks and another two vehicles burned at a property on Rutherford Road, near Orenda Road, at 3:15 a.m., a Peel Regional Police spokesperson told INsauga.com.
“Upon arrival, officers observed multiple vehicles engulfed in flames within the lot,” the spokesperson said in an email. No one was on the property when police arrived.
Surveillance video footage shows two people arriving on foot, the spokesperson added.
Police said the footage shows two people pouring gasoline on and around two heavy tow trucks located inside a business parking lot. Two other vehicles sustained damage in the fire.
After igniting the fire, both suspects fled southbound, police said.
At this time, no injuries have been reported in connection with the incident, police added.
Police are looking for two people.
One suspect was wearing a white shirt, grey pants, white shoes and a facial covering. The second suspect was not visible on camera, police said.
This is the second fire in Brampton involving tow trucks this month.
Multiple tow trucks burned on Jan. 5 in the Rutherford Road and Glidden Road area of Brampton. Four to five people were spotted fleeing the scene.
Police told reporters they haven’t confirmed a connection between the two fires.
