Toronto man charged after loaded gun found during traffic stop in Oshawa

A 40-year-old Toronto man faces numerous charges after police seized a firearm during a traffic stop in Oshawa early this morning.

Central West Division officers conducted a traffic stop near Stevenson Rd. S. and Creighton Avenue just before one a.m.  The driver of the vehicle then fled as officer approached him.  Officers were able to catch up to the man and he was placed under arrest.

A loaded firearm was subsequently located and seized.

Jermaine Benjamin faces 10 firearm and other related charges. He was held for a bail hearing.
