Hospital executives once again top the list of Mississauga’s highest-paid public sector employees.

The Sunshine List or Public Sector Salary Disclosure 2022 is out and it reveals the salaries of public sector employees earning more than $100,000 a year.

Each year since the Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act (PSSDA) was passed in 1996, the Ontario Government has published the list. As wages have increased since 1996, some say the $100,000 mark should be bumped up.

More than 2,100 Mississauga and Brampton cops and civilian workers earn $100,000 a year, the list revealed. But the police chief brings in $352,502 a year and deputy chiefs earn around $300,000.

City of Mississauga top staff members earn over $200,000 a year.

And, like last year, hospital executives with Trillium Health Partners in Mississauga have the highest public sector salaries in the city.

Trillium Health Partners oversees Credit Valley, Mississauga and Queensway hospitals. Trillium has a huge task ahead with the building one of the largest health-care facilities in Canada. The Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital is slated to start construction in 2025.

The highest salary goes to Trillium Health Partners’ president and chief executive officer Michelle DiEmanuele who is currently head of Ontario’s public service and the deputy minister after she was  seconded to serve in June 2021. DiEmanuele earned $682,500.06 in 2022.

Karli Farrow, Trillium Health Partners’ current president and chief executive officer took in $657,275.85 last year. Previously, Farrow was executive vice-president, patient care and services and chief operating officer.

Next on the list is Trillium’s chief of staff Dante Morra who brought in $580,152.09.

Bridget Fewtrell, president and chief executive officer of ErinoakKids Centre for Treatment and Development is next at $482,175.21. ErinoakKids is a medical, therapeutic and support service centre for children and youth with physical and developmental disabilities.

Rounding out the list is Kathryn Hayward-Murray, vice president, strategy and chief nursing executive at The Credit Valley Hospital earned $428,547.33 last year.
