Three Hamilton schools on lockdown for police investigation

Three downtown Hamilton schools were placed on Hold and Secure Friday (Sept. 18) afternoon.

Three downtown Hamilton schools were placed on Hold and Secure Friday (Sept. 18) afternoon.

Hamilton Police tweeted that Cathy Wever and St. Patrick elementary school, as well as Cathedral secondary, were being secured due to an investigation in the area.

Police say students and staff are safe in their buildings.

They did not provide additional information regarding the investigation.

UPDATE: Police say that further investigation revealed that a male was in possession of a BB gun. He has been arrested and charged, police say.
