Three charged with 1st-degree murder of Hamilton teen gunned down in 2021: Police

Three people have been arrested and charged in relation to the 2021 fatal shooting of 18-year-old Yua Blut Kaw in central Hamilton.

According to Hamilton Police, Kaw was gunned down shortly after 4:30 p.m. on September 24, 2021, while walking in the area of Cannon Street E and Barnesdale Ave.

At the time, police said Kaw was approached by a dark-coloured four-door sedan from which multiple shots were fired.

During the months-long investigation, police identified those believed to be involved in the incident and arrested three people last Thursday (June 9). Warrants were executed in Hamilton and in the Ottawa area.

The following individuals are facing a first-degree murder charge:

  • Nejib Ahmed Nour, 27, of Hamilton
  • Male Youth, 17, of Hamilton
  • Abdaziz Ibrahim Omer, 20, of Hamilton
