Durham Police told the public late tonight that a threat was made against a high school in Clarington.

Just after 11 p.m. on Thursday (May 25), Durham Regional Police Service said they will have a police presence around Clarington Central Secondary School (CCSS), a grades 7 to 12 school in the community of Bowmanville. The presence stems from “a threat posted on social media towards” CCSS.

There was no further elaboration about the nature of the threat, or where it was posted.

The DRPS are asking anyone with information to contact them. Tips can also be shared anonymously through Durham Regional Crime Stoppers at 905-436-8477 (TIPS).

Clarington Central is part of the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board.
