MADO in Mississauga is open from 2 to 4 a.m. for Ramadan

For residents observing Ramadan this year, MADO in Mississauga is making it easy to still go out and enjoy quality food before the sun rises.

In addition to their regular hours, the popular Square One restaurant – serving up Turkish cuisine and delicacies – is open every day from 2 a.m. to 4 a.m. throughout Ramadan, which ends on April 20th this year.

The restaurant has its own outdoor entrance near Entrance 2 (lot P2) which can be used without having to go into the mall – especially useful during its hours when the mall is closed.

From 2 a.m. to 4 a.m., their exclusive menu option is the sahur breakfast (sahur meaning the meal eaten before the sun comes up): A beautiful spread that includes three kinds of cheese with walnuts, handmade Adjuka (a traditional appetizer made with walnut, parsley, pepper, tomato and feta cheese), Turkish olives, a tahini and molasses spread, salad, Turkish Kaymak with honey, and a boiled egg.

The restaurant doesn’t just offer sahur though – during the evening for Ramadan, they also have two meal options for iftar, the meal after the sun goes down: Your choice of their mouth watering marinated chicken shish kabab, or their special kofta made from tender, flavourful beef.

Both Iftar dishes include dates, daily soup, salad, handmade traditional bread, rice, and French fries, offering a very filling meal that’s perfect after a day of fasting.

The restaurant will also remain open during its regular hours of 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily (9 p.m. on Sundays).

You can book a table ahead of time by reserving at their website.

Having opened last spring, MADO’s Square One location is just one of over 300 locations all over the world for the popular international franchise, which is best known for its famous ice cream baklava sandwiches.

MADO says the history of their ice cream baklava goes back 300 years to the Turkish city of Kahramanmaraş, back when ice cream was made with molasses, honey, and fruit extracts.

“K.Maras’s ‘dovme’ ice cream has become a taste and brand known to the world with MADO,” the restaurant says.

Aside from their dessert options, the restaurant’s massive menu also features a variety of Turkish-style dishes such as Handmade Manti, Begendi Chicken, Iskender Beef and much more.

Other menu options include pizza, pasta, wraps, burgers, baked goods and vegetarian/vegan options, all of which are available during the restaurant’s regular hours.

The restaurant’s cuisine is best enjoyed in the gorgeous and modern interior, which features comfortable seating laid out in a spacious and open dining area.

“MADO brings together several traditional tastes of Turkish cuisine and its own delicious tastes, as well as the atmosphere! You can’t forget the atmosphere of our restaurants,” says MADO.
