Two westbound lanes of the QEW in Mississauga and an on-ramp are scheduled to be closed to traffic in the evening and overnight hours once again next week as work continues on the rehabilitation of the highway bridge over the Credit River.

Officials with the QEW/Credit River Improvement Project say two westbound lanes between Hurontario St. and the Credit River bridge will be impacted on Monday (Aug. 15) and Wednesday (Aug. 17) evenings into the following mornings.

The Hurontario St. westbound on-ramp to the QEW will also be impacted on those nights.

The first lane of the westbound QEW in that area will be closed from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. on the two nights while the second lane will be shut down from midnight to 5 a.m., project leaders say.

The Hurontario St. on-ramp will be closed from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. on those dates.

Officials say all closures are dependent on the weather and that minor traffic disruptions are anticipated.

As work continues on the massive Credit River bridge project, drivers and area residents can expect ongoing traffic disruptions to impact part of the QEW and other areas in the vicinity of Mississauga Rd. and the highway in the coming weeks and months.

Night and weekend work along the 2.6-km stretch of the QEW from Hurontario St. to Mississauga Rd. is expected to impact traffic for the duration of construction.
