Tansley Bridge work means nightly Dundas St. closure, detour for Oakville Transit riders

A road closure on Dundas St. between Sutton Dr. and Tremaine Rd. will impact Oakville Transit Route 5 riders each weekday evening beginning at 9 p.m. OAKVILLE TRANSIT IMAGES

Oakville Transit Route 5 riders will be impacted as construction on the Tansley Bridge on Dundas St. continues nightly until April 1.

Dundas St. between Sutton Dr. and Tremaine Rd. will be closed each weekday evening beginning at 9 p.m. Route 5 buses will be detoured, with a shuttle to assist with connections into Burlington.

Closures will take place Monday to Friday (including Friday night) from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. The road is expected to be opened back up by 5 a.m. April 1.

Oakville Transit Route 5 trips after 8:40 p.m. will be impacted, Monday to Friday during this period.

Oakville Transit will ensure connections into Burlington by operating a shuttle bus from Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH) to Dundas/407 Walkers carpool lot.

WESTBOUND TRAVEL TOWARDS BURLINGTON

The 8:40 p.m. and 9:40 p.m. Route 5 from Oakville GO will travel as far as Dundas and Colonel William Parkway, where the bus will short turn and go out of service.

A shuttle will operate from OTMH at 9:12 p.m. and 10:12 p.m. upon arrival of the regular Route 5. Dundas, Colonel William, Upper Middle, Bronte, QEW, Burloak (turns into Upper Middle), Sutton and Dundas to Dundas/407.

EEASTBOUND TRAVEL TOWARDS OAKVILLE AND THE OAKVILLE GO

The 9:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. eastbound Route 5 from Dundas/407 will operate via shuttle, leaving at 9:40 p.m. and 10:40 p.m. arriving at OTMH at 10:08 p.m. and 11:08 p.m. The connecting Route 5 East will depart the OTMH at 10:46 p.m. and 11:10 p.m.

The regularly scheduled Route 5 eastbound will depart Dundas and Bronte at 9:41p.m. and 10:41 p.m.
