More details have emerged regarding the assault at the Ajax GO Station yesterday evening, including a suspect description

Shortly after 3 p.m. on Feb. 7, Durham Regional Police announced they were at the train station investigating an assault. They confirmed a man, 23, had been stabbed and left with life-threatening wounds.

The victim was soon rushed to Toronto for treatment at a trauma centre and was downgraded to stable sometime later. At the time of their first announcement, police had no more detail to share.

They had no suspect description at the time. The suspect had run away from the scene.  A K-9 unit and the Air1 police helicopter searched the area but could not find him.

The next morning investigators said they had images of an unidentified suspect. They described him as a thin Black man, wearing a red durag, a large dark jacket, and dark sneakers with red highlights.
