The fifth annual Stroller Run for Stella to raise funds for Burlington’s hosptial is being held Sept. 24.

The fundraiser for Joseph Brant Hospital’s labour and delivery unit is expected to be the final one as the unit will surpass its $100,000 goal for redevelopment in honour of Dr. Stella Pasarakis, who dedicated her career to the babies and families of Burlington.

Participants are invited to register, fundraise and join in person, with or without a stroller, to complete a 5K along the beautiful Waterfront Trail and enjoy refreshments, prizes and more.

According to a hospital spokesperson, Joseph Brant Hospital delivered nearly 1,400 babies last year and, while the care the staff provides is unparalleled — with mothers returning to deliver their second, third or even ninth babies– the current unit doesn’t meet the standards the community deserves.

The run is being held at Willow Cove Pavilion in Confederation Park in Hamilton at 9 a.m.
