Another storm is en-route to communities still dealing with the battering they took from Victoria Day’s tornados with 25 to 50 mm of rain expected tonight.

Environment Canada released the severe weather warning around 2 p.m. June 6. Rains began in Oshawa but a few hours later with a mist descending on the city around 6 p.m.

The storm will dump between 25 and 50 mm of rain on the affected areas, with higher volumes expected in areas set to see fierce thunderstorms.

The storms will run from Monday evening into Tuesday afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms will ride a cold front across Durham and York Regions the storms will wrap up as the cold front passes over.

The course of the storm and it’s timing are uncertain at the moment. As a result Environment Canada said the rainfall amounts are “subject to change.”

Rainfall warnings may be issued down the line as the storm comes through. Residents can learn about flood prevention  in preparation for the storm.
