Steel pipe-wielding bandit robs Oshawa sandwich shop

Investigators are looking for a steel pipe-wielding suspect following the robbery of a Subway restaurant in downtown Oshawa Sunday afternoon.

Officers were called to the sandwich shop at 4:25 p.m. for a report of an armed person. Police say the female suspect entered the restaurant and made conversation with the employee. The suspect then armed herself with a steel pipe and went behind the counter and ordered the employee to open the cash register.

The suspect stole cash from the register and fled on foot.

The victim did not receive any injuries.

The suspect is described as female, white, 30-40 years old, wearing a black cloth on her head, a blue surgical mask, a white jacket over a grey shirt, and grey and black mid-length tight pants.
