St. Catharines rental prices inch down in February but still up over last year

Both one and two-bedroom apartments in St. Catharines fared well in February, seeing the rents drop from January’s prices, according to Rental.ca.
A one bedroom in St. Catharines for February averaged $1,581/month, a slight 0.3 per cent drop from January.
However, compared to February 2022, those rents had actually increased 21.5 per cent year-to-year.
A two-bedroom in the Garden City did even better, averaging $1,910/month – a steep 5.9 per cent decline from January.
However, two bedroom units also saw a 13.2 per cent hike compared to February 2022.
Regardless, both the one and two bedroom rental costs in St. Catharines were well below the national averages which saw one-bedrooms running for $1,739/month and two-bedroom units at $2,103/month.
