A St. Catharines woman, who’s been faithfully playing the lottery for over 30 years, finally cashed in, hitting the last six of seven ENCORE numbers in exact order in the April 2 LOTTARIO draw to win $100,000.

Antonella Zumpano, who’s played the lotter since 1987, said, “I started playing regular numbers in my father’s memory. I always add ENCORE.”

Picking up her big cheque at the OLG Prize Centre,  she said she was winding down one evening when she decided to check her tickets.

“I saw the Big Winner screen and I thought I was seeing things. I couldn’t believe my eyes,” she said. “A few days later I went to the store to check it again. It feels too good to be true! I even counted the zeroes – I was sweating from the adrenaline!”

She added that when she told her husband about her big win, “It took a while for it to sink in. I truly believe this is a blessing.”

Zumpano plans to use her win to do something special for her upcoming 30th wedding anniversary. “The rest will be tucked aside for future fun and adventure,” she smiled.

The winning ticket was purchased at Food Basics on Montrose Road in Niagara Falls.
