Snow in the forecast has led to a weather advisory for Mississauga and Brampton, as well as Burlington, Oakville, Halton Hills and Milton.

Environment Canada issued the advisory on Tuesday (Nov. 15) and says to expect between 5 to 10 cm of snow starting on Tuesday, continuing into early Wednesday morning.

An approaching low pressure system will make its way over Lake Erie on Tuesday, bringing snow for much of southern Ontario, as easterly winds off Lake Ontario are expected to increase the snowfall.

Drivers should be prepared for poor visibility due to heavy snow.

Environment Canada says to be ready for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions on Ontario roads, and is advising drivers to take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.

“Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for tail lights ahead and maintain a safe following distance. If you must drive, be prepared for areas of poor visibility,” Environment Canada said.
