If you’re hoping to purchase a home in Mississauga this year, you probably know that prospective buyers are having a tough time.

With few houses to choose from (inventory issues are becoming front-page news once more), prices are inching back up to 2017 levels. In fact, data recently released by the Toronto Real Estate Board indicates that in Mississauga, the average price of a detached home hit $1,221,652 in December.

A semi-detached cost $772,374, a condo-townhouse cost $615,921 and a condo cost $513,331 in the last month of 2019.

While prices are unlikely to tumble, it does appear that some new homes will hit the market this year and help increase the city’s housing supply. According to Buzz Buzz Home, some stylish townhouses are currently in the preconstruction phase in Clarkson

The development is scheduled for completion in December 2020.

Units began selling in May 2019.

While the listing does not yet feature prices, it does say maintenance fees will be $0.30 per square foot per month. Parking spots are included in the overall purchase price (and each unit comes with one underground spot).

According to the listing, all units should be separately metered for gas and hydro and will feature energy-efficient HVAC systems, low-flush toilets, double-glazed windows and doors, smooth ceiling finishes in kitchens and bathrooms, laminate flooring, outdoor balconies and terraces with glass railings, a choice of granite or quartz smooth edge countertops, “spa-inspired” bathrooms and more.
