One lane remains closed as repairs continue on a sinkhole in Brampton.
Peel Regional Police said the large sinkhole opened around 1:20 p.m. on Monday on Steeles Avenue between Airport Road and Goreway Drive in Brampton.
The large hole had “large amounts of water pooling,” and all eastbound lanes of Steeles Avenue from Airport Road to Goreway Drive were closed.
The closure continued through Tuesday.
As of 3 a.m. on Wednesday, one eastbound lane reopened, police said on X.
Police said all lanes are expected to be open by midnight Wednesday.
“Seek alternate routes to avoid delays,” police said.
