A tornado is possible during the thunderstorm watch in Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton and Halton

There is a severe thunderstorm watch in effect for:

  • Mississauga
  • Brampton
  • Hamilton
  • Burlington
  • Oakville
  • Caledon
  • Halton Hills
  • Milton

Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing damaging wind gusts, damaging hail and heavy rain.

– Wind gusts up to 110 km/h
– Large hail up to ping pong ball size
– Heavy downpours
– A tornado is possible

This will take place this evening and overnight.

Discussion: A line of severe thunderstorms along a strong cold front is expected to move southeast across the regions tonight. The cold front an thunderstorms will move to the southeast of the area by early Wednesday morning.

Very large hail can damage property, break windows, dent vehicles and cause serious injury. Very strong wind gusts can damage buildings, down trees and blow large vehicles off the road.
