A man police have been looking for since September has ended, following his arrest over the weekend.
Toronto Police say that Kye-Shawne Griffiths, 29, now faces a charge of second-degree murder in connection with the death of a Markham man.
The fatal shooting happened on Sept. 24 around 10 p.m. at a restaurant in the area of Sheppard Avenue East and Brimley Road in Scarborough, the Toronto Police Service says.
Investigators say Yueyuan Dong, 42, was shot following a “physical confrontation” with multiple people. And while paramedics performed life-saving measures at the scene, Dong was rushed to hospital and died some three weeks later on Oct. 19.
Canada-wide warrants for second-degree murder were issued for three men, one, Donald Keeshig, 29, of Toronto, turned himself shortly after the incident, and another, Kai Chen, 30, of Markham, remains outstanding.
Griffiths was scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre on April 4.
