Semi-automatic rifle with silencer seized from a Brampton home

A Brampton man faces several charges after police seized weapons and drugs from a home.

Acting on a warrant, police searched a home in Brampton on Saturday (Jan. 13), Peel Regional Police said in a press release today.

Police seized .22 caliber semi-automatic rifle equipped with a suppressor along with a nine-millimetre Smith and Wesson handgun, police said.

Drugs were also seized from the residence.

Neal Henry, a 42-year-old-man from Brampton, is charged with two counts of unauthorized possession of firearms, possession of a prohibited device or ammunition for a dangerous purpose, two counts of careless storage of firearm, possession of property obtained by crime, and four drug possession for the purpose of trafficking charges.

He was held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
