See you in September: Hamilton students likely to finish school year at home

Elementary and secondary school students in Hamilton will likely have to wait until September to see their classmates.
Word out of Queen’s Park is that the Provincial government is leaning towards not sending students back into the classroom for the final weeks of the 2020/2021 school year. They will continue with remote learning.
Days after Doug Ford sought the advice of educators and health experts from across Ontario on what to do about the current school year, sources say the premier believes time is running out to get schools up and running again and that the focus instead should be on a smooth re-opening in September when a large number of school-aged children are expected to be fully vaccinated.
“No decision has been made, but the premier is leaning towards keeping the schools closed,” a source told InTheHammer.
Ford is planning to meet with his Cabinet on Wednesday (June 2) and that a decision could be made any time after that.
Students across Ontario have been learning remotely since mid-April when Ford decided to close in-person classrooms because of the increasing spread of COVID-19.insauga's Editorial Standards and Policies
