SCHOOL LOCKDOWN: Handgun leads to charges for teens in Mississauga

UPDATE: The lockdown at The Woodlands Secondary School has been lifted, Peel Regional Police said in an update at around 12:15 p.m. They released no additional information. (Original story follows)

A high school in Mississauga’s west end has been locked down for a police investigation.

Peel Regional Police said The Woodlands Secondary School “self-placed in lockdown out of caution” shortly before 11:30 a.m. on Monday.

Police said officers are on site at the school, which is located on Erindale Station Road a couple of blocks north of Dundas Street West.

No injuries have been reported, police said, adding their investigation is ongoing.

Police have not revealed any specific details about the incident.
