A school bus driver faces impaired driving charges after a minor crash in Niagara Falls.

The incident started when a school bus collided with a garbage truck in the area of Montrose Road and Lundy’s Lane in Niagara Falls just after 3 p.m. on Monday (March 4), Niagara Regional Police said in a press release.

The bus driver allegedly drove away without stopping, police said.

The garbage truck driver decided to follow the bus until it stopped in the area of Pitton Road in the City of Niagara Falls, police added.

Police responded to the Pitton Road area and a driver was arrested.

There were no students on the bus at the time.

Devon D. Dobbs, 30, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with impaired operation of a vehicle.

Dobbs was released and is expected to appear at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines on April 20.
