An upcoming event will enable residents to help raise funds for the Milton District Hospital Foundation (MDHF) by running or walking.

The Shoppers Run for Women, in support of Mental Health Services at Halton Healthcare, is taking place across the country throughout the months of May and June and aims to support mental health resources.

Milton residents who would like to participate will have the option to either register themselves as an individual runner, as a captain for their own Milton team or join the MDHF team.

Those who join will receive a swag bag valued at over $100 and 100 per cent of their registration fee will go towards supporting mental health at MDHF.

According to its website, the event’s purpose is to support women by “bringing communities together in support of local women’s mental health programs to make communities healthier.”

“At the Run for Women, everyone is part of the team. We celebrate everyone’s differences, unique experiences, and ideas by coming together for a feel-good walk/run/roll in support of women’s mental health programs,” reads the website.

This year, residents in Halton who would like to participate can do so at the nearest location, which will be Bronte Creek Provincial Park in Oakville on May 28.
