Royal Botanical Gardens introducing ‘most unique outdoor patio in Hamilton’ for August long weekend

Sipping a cold drink on a patio, enjoying the August long weekend and visiting the Royal Botanical Gardens are the quintessence of summertime in Hamilton and Burlington.

And now all three are wrapped up in a neat little package.

The RBG is introducing an event called SummerTide for the July 29-Aug. 1 holiday weekend, which it touts as “the most unique outdoor patio experience in Hamilton.” Over those four days, the rock garden at the venerable nature sanctuary willl offer a wine bar, roaming musicians and light installations during the evening. The event has been dubbed “SummerTide.”

Further information and ticket purchases are available at rbg.ca/summertide. The daytime event, whose admission is covered by the nomral admission fee or a RBG membership, is from 10 a.m. till 6 p.m. on the Saturday and Sunday (July 29-30), and 10 a.m. till 8 p.m. on the holiday Monday.

The evening edition of SummerTide is from 6 till 11 p.m. from July 29 to 31, and requires separate admission. It is also a 19-and-over event.

Royal Botanical Gardens hosts over 2,500 plant species across 2,400 acres of nature sanctuaries, including more than 50 species at risk. It is considered a plant biodiversity hotspot for Canada, and is also part of the Niagara Escarpment World Biosphere Reserve.
