Oshawa and Whitby residents should be aware of some upcoming road restrictions that may affect travel.

Starting Monday, May 2, lane restrictions will begin on Conlin Road from Thickson Road North to Stevenson Road North, and on Garrard Road south of Conlin Road.

The restrictions are related to the construction of a new feedermain on Conlin and Garrard Road.

“In co-ordination with the City of Oshawa the work also includes road reconstruction, watermain, sanitary and storm sewer construction on Conlin Road from the west city limits to 250 metres west of Stevenson Road North in the City of Oshawa,” according to a statement from Durham Region.

The Region has stated that full and partial closures on Conlin Road, Conlin Road West and Thornton Road North will be required for the full duration of the contract, with lanes open to local traffic only.

More information on the ongoing construction is available here.
