The Ride to Conquer Cancer will be travelling through Burlington which means there will be lane and road closures on that date.

One of the largest fundraising and cycling events in the country, the ride is used to support the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto with all proceeds collected going directly to the hospital

“Each year it brings thousands together to help accelerate life-saving cancer research,” according to organizers of the event. “While each rider has their own reason for riding, we are all heading towards the same goal: Conquer Cancer In Our Lifetime. There are multiple ride routes to choose from and cyclists of all levels are encouraged to join.”

In Burlington, the ride will take place this Saturday, June 8 and take place in the northern part of the city from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The only road closure will take place at the intersection of Walkers Line and Britannia Road

Lane restrictions will take place on the following roads where the cycling route will take place:

  • Blind Line
  • Colling Road
  • Cedar Springs Road
  • No. 1 Sideroad

Residents living along the route can exit or enter their homes using the gaps between riders. If you need assistance getting out of your driveway on event day call call 1-800-444-1017 and an event vehicle will be sent to escort you.

Emergency services will be maintained at all times. Halton police will manage the road closure.
