Don’t be discouraged by the plentiful April showers darkening the sky–summer is just around the corner and with it, an annual festival that brings an abundance of ribs and beer to Brampton.

The Brampton Rib and Beer Fest, organized by Northern Heat Rib Series, will kick off on June 21 and run until June 23.

Held at Chinguacousy Park (225 Central Park Dr.), the three-day festival will feature live music, ribs and other hearty meat dishes (think beef brisket, pulled pork, BBQ chicken), funnel cakes, blooming onions, poutine, ice cream, vegetarian dishes and more.

As far as music goes, attendees can check out Country Night on Friday, Rock the Park on Saturday and the Music Mash-up and Ribs on Sunday. Performers slated to appear at the event include The Electric Merchants, Madison Galloway, Lakeside Groove, South Pawz, Wicked Truth, Pearl Jamming: Tribute to Pearl Jam and more.

The festival also includes a beer market, which will offer an “ice cold selection of Cowbell draught.” According to the festival’s website, the beer market will also offer wine, whisky and vodka cocktails and ready-to-drink coolers.

Drinks can be purchased with drink tickets and the beer tent’s hours will differ slightly from those of the festival itself.

The festival will also include backyard BBQ games, a kids’ zone and a Battle of the Ribs.

The event costs $2 to attend and admission is free for children under five.
