Possible loss of steering control on nearly 3,000 vehicles in Canada, recall, chevrolet, gmc

Nearly 3,000 vehicles in Canada have been recalled because of an issue that could lead to a loss of control, officials say.

Transport Canada said in a notice that a nut in the vehicles’ steering gear assembly may not have been tightened properly.

“As a result, the nut could loosen and separate. If this happens, there could be a loss of steering control,” the notice said.

“A loss of steering control could increase the risk of a crash.”

The recall is from General Motors and involves the 2025 and 2026 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana models.

There are 2,928 vehicles impacted in Canada.

GM will notify owners by mail and advise them to take their vehicle to a dealership.

The dealer will inspect and, if needed, replace the steering gear assembly.
